All Journals and written answers will be turned into Schoology. Journals are due and must be tuned in on Fridays. Make
sure that all entries are labeled, creative and that they have a nice layout so
the eye carries through your composition collage layout. Upload both pages as images and respond to the questions for each Journal entry in the Post Comment Section of Schoology. Most Journal Entries require 12 different Photographers per each 2 page Journal. Please make sure you have 6 on each page.
Please do Journals online
via photocollage.com or google slides make sure to type your answers to the questions under your
entries in Schoology. Please remember when creating your Journal Entries that there are some rules.
1. You have to include the
title and or year, Artist and website where the image is found. If no artist is created you CAN NOT use the image.
2. If you receive a
copyright notice please do not use or take a screen shot.
3. All images are used for educational
purposes only.
Please be aware of this as you create your collage. You may
find a photographer and style you like but you may not be able to use it if it is not appropriate. Also, if you CAN NOT identify the Photographer you may NOT use the image.
Make sure to upload your Journal Entries and Answers to the themed question to Schoology for credit.
Journal #1- Favorite Photos
Part 1- Create a 2 Page Collage. What
kind of photography do you like? Fill 2
pages with 6 photos each with Photographers images you find online that you like or that you
wish you could take. You have to include the title and or year, Artist and website where each image and include on your collage.
Part 2- Answer Questions in your Post.
1. Why do you like these photos?
2.
Do they relate to you on a personal level and why? If not than why do you like
the images.
3. How would you take photos like these? Describe the process you
would use.
Journal #2- Elements and Principles of Art.
Create a visual dictionary of the Elements and Principles
of Art by using photographs found online by Photographers of the Elements and than the Principles. Make sure
that you label your image with the Element or Principle the image represents and makes sure to include the artist, title and source. You may NOT use a picture of a painting or a drawing. We are researching PHOTOGRAPHERS.
Also, label each page either Elements or Principle and make sure to
start a new page when you transition from Elements to Principles. Use as many pages as necessary. DO
NOT mix them up.
No questions to answer for Journal #2.
Journal #3-
Portraits.
Part 1- Create a 2 page collage of Portraits. Portraits in this context is neck and head only. Note the angle
in which the photo was taken. Fill 2 pages with 6 photos each (total 12) with Photographers images you find online that are Portraits you like. You have to include the title and or year, Artist and website where each image and include on your collage.
Part 2- Answer Questions in your Post.
1. Which angle works best?
2. If you were to take a Portrait what angle would you
take it and why?
Journal #4- Objects
Part 1- Create a 2 page collage. You should include photos of a specific
object of something that you like or have a relationship with. For example it
can be a collage of cats. dogs, shoes or even apples. Use your imagination. Fill 2 pages with 6 photos each with Photographers images you find online that are Objects you like. You have to include the title and or year, Artist and website where each image and include on your collage. If
you cannot fill up 2 pages find 2 different types of objects.
Part 2- Answer Questions in your Post.

2. What does the object mean to you?
Journal #5-
Still-life.
Part 1- Create a 1 page collage. For this entry find 8 successful still-life photographs by Photographers that have a theme
that share things that interest you. For example: they all have vases, apples
or represent Halloween.
Part 2. Answer Questions in your Post.
1. Why
did you choose this theme?
2. What would you have done differently if you took
those photos?
3. How are you going to or did you set up your still-life?
Journal #6-
Landscape.
Part 1- Create a 2 page collage. For this Journal 1you will fill 2 pages with 6 photos each (total 12) with Photographers images you find online that are Landscapes you like. You have to include the title and or year, Artist and website where each image and include on your collage. Remember that landscape cannot include manmade items or people. Landscape can
also be close-ups of nature for details.

1. Talk about one specific photo. Why did you pick this image
(include 3 details)?
2. How would you take a photo like that one (be specific-
time of day, light, etc.)?
3. What emotions do landscape photos evoke in you (3
specifics and the reason)?
Journal #7-
Architecture.
Part 1- Create a 2 page collage of Architecture. For this Journal you will fill 2 pages with 6 photos each (total 12) with Photographers images you find online that are Architecture. You have to include the title and or year, Artist and website where each image and include on your collage

Night Photos
Part 1- Create a 2 page
collage of Night Photos that YOU TOOK at night. Please create a collage of
these images (at least 12) to Photocollage.com and post. Make sure that the
page is well laid out.
Part 2. Answer Questions in your Post.
1. Do you
think night photography is hard? Why?
2. Describe what you had to do to make a
successful series of night photographs.
Journal #9-
Document a Process.
Part 1. Create a 2 page
spread of pictures that document something through photographs. This could be you or someone else making a recipe,
making a project for another class, attending a wedding, Birthday party or any event that
is visually interesting. CAN NOT be from the past. It has to be in real time. Since school started.
Part 2. Answer Questions in your Post.

are you documenting? Be specific.

details you have captured in your photos.)
3. What is the overall mood and how
did you capture this? (Describe 3 details you have captured in your photos.)
Assignment #10-
Family and or Friend Photos.
Part 1- Create a 2 page spread of images YOU TOOK of yourself and
your family or friends. This collage needs to represent you and your family members’
personalities as well. You may not include images you did not take.
Part 2. Answer Questions in your Post.
1. Who is
in your family? Describe their personalities and yours.
2. What did you do as a
photographer to make your subjects comfortable?
3. What are your trying to say
in this collage about your family?
